The 2024-2025 USARA Regional Qualifier slate is set, and over the course of the 2024-2025 race season, the program expands to include 15 events across fourteen states. With the input of the racing community through the Racer Advisory Committee, USARA made the decision to increase the size of the RQ lineup from ten to fifteen events to offer more opportunities to both qualify for and win funding toward National Championship entry.

With the expanded field of events, mixed gender champions at each of the regional qualifiers win guaranteed entry to Nationals in addition to an $800 credit toward their entry fee. If a champion has already secured entry for Nationals, they will win the credit but the guaranteed spot will roll down to the next mixed gender team at the RQ. Additionally, a given team can only win one discounted entry to Nationals, so prize credits will also roll down if a RQ champion has already won a qualifier.

Ultimately, while the decision to expand the program means a moderate reduction in the value of the RQ prize (over the last three years, winners of ten RQs won free entry to Nationals), the expansion of the program means that the RQ slate is more geographically diverse, making it easier for teams across the nation to compete in one. Moreover, more teams will have the chance to win entry to and discounted entry toward Nationals.

“We are excited to work with fifteen incredible race directors,” says USARA Executive Director, Michael Garrison. “While we are committed to working with some newer but qualified RDs, most of the RQ race directors are among the most experienced event promoters in the country, and these will be undoubtedly be some of the best events in the nation during the 2024-2025 season.”

The new season has already kicked off with the Fall Foliage already in the books and Team ThisAbility already crowned as the first RQ champion for the new season. With fourteen more slots and financial prizes available, it should be another competitive season as excitement builds for the 2025 USARA National Championship.
