​Adventure racing is all about community. Whether taking in the majesty of a mountaintop sunrise with your teammates, joining forces with another team to work through a difficult creek crossing, or sharing stories with old friends and new ones at a post-race meal, adventure racers have always enjoyed and sought out connections with each other. It is this bond that forms between teammates and across teams that makes our sport so special.

We at USARA aim to unite adventure racers across the nation, while providing high standards for events and meaningful support to race directors. Your membership allows us to build this more expansive and interconnected community. 

We understand that this support represents an expense to racers, in addition to gear, registration, and travel costs. To assure the community that our organization takes its responsibility as a steward of the sport and its community seriously, USARA is shifting to a nonprofit model of governance so that you can be secure in knowing that every dollar of membership fees collected will go back into the organization to improve event sanctioning, officiating, rankings, the national championship, membership services, media, support for our affiliated race directors, and to otherwise further the development of the sport.
