SARAH GOLDMAN
Action First Coaching is one of the only adventure racing-specific coaching organizations in the United States. Led by veteran expedition adventure racer Sarah Goldman, Action First addresses the unique needs of adventure racers: physical endurance and mental grit. Sarah has been coaching athletes across the US including former US National Champions and Eco Challenge finishers.
Working with Sarah will not only include AR-specific custom training plans, but also mindset-specific strategies incorporated into workouts in order to prepare athletes for the consistent mental challenges of extreme endurance racing. New racers, will also have access to Sarah for general adventure racing guidance around nutrition, gear, and strategy. TRAVIS MACY
Finisher of over 120 ultra endurance events in 17 countries, Travis Macy is a speaker, author, coach, and professional endurance athlete. He is the author of The Ultra Mindset: An Endurance Champion's 8 Core Principles for Success in Business, Sports, and Life, and he set a record for Leadman, an epic endurance event consisting of a trail running marathon, 50-mile mountain bike race, Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race, 10k road run, and Leadville 100 Run, all above 10,200' in the Rocky Mountains.
Travis leads authentically to empower others to make the most of their lives through his work as an endurance coach, consultant, speaker, and writer. He lives with his wife and two young children in Salida, Colorado.

JASON & CHELSEY MAGNESS
Whether adventure racing across remote icebergs, developing innovative acrobatics, or balancing a thousand feet above the ground on a slackline, Jason and Chelsey have learned to train the mind and body to surpass limits and take life and performance to the next level. The duo form the backbone of team Bend Racing/YogaSlackers (top US team in Eco Challenge Fiji, and ranked as high as 7th in the world) and together have completed over 100 expedition races. They are also world renowned acrobatics, yoga, slackline and climbing instructors with many notable "firsts" in each of these fields as well. Based in Bend, Oregon, they are passionate about the art of learning (training) able to maintain elite levels of skill in seemingly totally unrelated sports. They focus on in-person team and solo training , as well as online coaching and consulting.
Their training methodology focuses on "Meta learning" and is based in part on the Pareto Principle. It draws heavily on their personal experience and experiments that led to their transformation from amateur athletes to world class racers and teachers. They focus on low to moderate volume training that is most effective in getting a solid ROI (return on investment), and specialize in creating big shifts on minimum time.

JEN SEGGER
Sought out for her expertise in endurance training protocols, Jen has become a recognized name and leader in the coaching industry over the past fifteen years. Her athletes are located all over the world and range from the total newbie to the elite. As a twenty-year veteran of adventure racing, Jen has been racing at the highest level in the sport for several of the best teams in the USA and internationally. Jen applies her first-hand knowledge and experience to her coaching. Based out of Squamish, BC, she coaches athletes around the world, offering individualized training plans and sport-specific guidance as it relates to nutrition, strength and conditioning, and hormones.
Jen also works specifically with women, applying the latest in performance research to ensure that these athletes are working with their own unique female physiology and not against it, no matter what phase of life they may be in.
For those not seeking 1:1 personalized guidance but still looking for a comprehensive and performance based program, Jen has three new adventure racing training courses, available at the end of 2020. These virtual five-month learning opportunities are designed to prepare athletes for 6hr, 12hr and 24hr adventure races and include everything that an athlete needs to be successful when they toe the line. JAMES GALIPEAU
Blended Working Adventures offers services that complement traditional endurance sports coaching by focusing on the mental skills aspect of endurance sports performance and creating a mental health and wellness-based athletic lifestyle.
For over fifteen years, James Galipeau has honed his own mental skills and developed training materials while competing in a wide variety of endurance-based sports. This includes adventure racing, ultramarathons, multi-day mountain biking and cross-country skiing events, 24-hour ROGAINE (orienteering), marathon paddling, snowshoe racing, and both summer and winter multi-sport races. Based in Chilliwack, BC, Canada, James has a Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology and a Ph.D. in Education. He has worked with endurance athletes on the mental skills side of the sport, and he has conducted research on the mental skills used by adventure racers and how athletes learn to work together as a team.
James has developed a self-paced online course (which includes scheduled one-on-one discussion sessions) for athletes wanting to improve their mental skills in AR and other endurance sports. He also offers consultation for teams to help them assess their physical and mental strengths and weaknesses, with the goal of improving teamwork, team dynamics, communication, decision-making, roles, responsibilities, and more.
